Dietary & Lifestyle Improvements:
Avoid hard all foods that are hard to digest (especially red meat and commercial dairy). Avoid refined carbohydrates such as white flour foods (bread, pasta, cookies, bagels, crackers, etc.) -- they are often the big culprits that create sticky blood platelets leading to blood clots. Blood clotting has a direct negative impact on the circulatory system. Increase your intake of natural fiber by eating more fresh fruits and vegetables (we highly recommend that you consume fresh servings of MBC™ juices and broths daily. This is by far the most efficient way to flood every cell in your body with proper nourishment so as to effectively cleanse your body of toxic matter and improve your circulatory health; we suggest that you explore our ‘Garden Fresh To You’ bundle selections to get yourself started).
Here are some tips to note:
- Try going for some gentle exercise each day. This can be a walk, house work, swimming or anything that is not too strenuous to start with. Within a few weeks the improvements can be quite dramatic. However, never go overboard with exercise, especially if your circulation is poor. But once you are up to it, do something that is a bit of a challenge that will get your blood pumping and out of breath.
- Start eating a healthy, well balanced diet. The MBC™ food combining principle is a good place to start to ensure that you are ‘Eating in Balance’. Consider taking some fresh omega 3 oils such as the Bio-Gold EFAs™. This is a great nutrient for your circulatory health.
- If you smoke - then quit! If you are serious about improving your circulatory health then you can't smoke. It is as simple as that!
- Use a hot water bottle when you get cold, especially for your feet. Use hot and cold treatment. This involves putting the affected body part in the warmth and then alternating it with something colder. This could be a bowl of warm water and a different bowl of colder water. Or you can use a warm water bottle and a packet of frozen peas etc. Just alternate between the two for 30 seconds or so at a time. (Just remember: Not too hot - Not too cold. Be sensible).
- Wear extra socks to keep warmer. BUT make sure they are not too tight. You don't want to restrict the blood flow even more. It can be rather surprising just how much warmer your toes can feel with an extra pair of socks on.
- You can also try some relaxation techniques such as a little meditation or listening to music. This can be very soothing and can really lift your spirits and reduce stress levels.
- Try to not stay too long in one position such as sitting at an office desk etc. Take a break at least every hour or so. Even for just a minute and go and stretch your legs a little.
Bible Nugget/s To Chew On:
*If you are a Christian, may this verse/s help you as they've helped us:
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” - Leviticus 17:11
What does fellowship with the brethren have to do with cleansing us from sin? As we know, the Bible says “the life is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). This is a fact, both biologically and spiritually. The blood in your body is a cleansing agent which purges the toxins and bacteria in our system, and supplies oxygen to vital areas necessary for our survival. Each minute, your heart pumps and circulates blood through miles of inter-connected veins and arteries, passing through the kidneys for filtering, and back into the same circulating cycle. However, in the event that a part of your body were to be severed from the flow of blood, the absence of blood circulation would cause that part to become infected — it would develop gangrene and die. Survival is not possible without continual circulation of the blood.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually” - 1 Cor. 12:27. For the blood of Jesus Christ to have its continual cleansing effect over our sins, we must remain attached to Christ’s body. If we sever fellowship with His body, we risk cutting off the circulation of the cleansing blood!
Keep in mind, salvation is based on “faith,” and is not earned by performing “works” such as attending Church – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast” - Ephesians 2:8-9. But fellowship with Christ’s body, the church, is critical in helping to sustain your faith by providing ministry, encouragement, and an atmosphere of spiritual “cleansing” and growth.
Our relationship with Jesus Christ is obviously the basis for the forgiveness of our sins, but the Bible indicates that we cannot have a proper relationship with Christ without a proper relationship with His body. For instance, the scriptures indicate that our worship to God is unacceptable unless we make things right with our brethren. “Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, “leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” - Matthew 5:23-24.
